Nah fukk that, I'm tired of hearing people try to explain how akata isn't a derogatory term when I've only ever seen it used in a derogatory way.

It's like hearing a cac try to explain why the N word isnt derogatory.

How about educating their people on why the word is offensive and how it shouldn't be used. Stop trying to tell us that it's not derogatory when yall use it as a slur directed towards us.
Because it's not derogatory, I bet you don't even know what the word really means. and if you say it means "Cotton picker" you're showing own ignorance and proved you don't know jack shyt :unimpressed:

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Well to his point, you never see Anglo Americans beefing with German or Irish americans . Hell you can't even tell them apart and They're basically the same people at this point with the same white culture where ever they are

But to be fair I hardly ever really see blacks of any background beefing at all in real life.

it doesn’t exist like that really.

the internet is a hiding place for haters

It means wild untamed animal, basically uncivilized.

Before you claim that I googled the definition, I already mentioned what it meant earlier in this thread.

And it's very much derogatory considering they choose to use it in a derogatory way. fukk outta here trying to tell me it's not meant to be offensive.

It's a double sided word

Akata means a cat whose not at home or it can mean an undomesticated/feral cat like you mentioned

I get called akata, oyinbo, or even yankee constantly when I go back to Nigeria because I am never around my family

I think another Haitian poster mentioned the something similar, he get's called moun-blan (foreigner) whenever he goes back to Haiti to see his fathers because he didn't grow up around them. Even though hatians in the NE use moun-blan as a designated term for white folks

i've heard this and the "A stray wandering cat" definition

Literally makes no difference as it was tailor made in its modern form to refer to us. And yes, is almost always used in a derogatory way

African booty scratcher mostly lived and died during 5th grade recess... and predominately in the 90's

Grown people are using AKATA today. No comparison really

Alot of those kids who were calling them ABS GREW up to become some of these koonbuya we are the world negros. Which makes this hilarious

The group that bigged up africans more than any other group in the history of the WEST. Is being anchored down by what we said after Homeroom period was over:russ::russ:

I really dont care for you trying to rationalize the use of the word. It's used in a derogatory way, and literally means uncivilized.

Then africans and ados needs to stop interacting ...

Let africans have their spaces and let ados do the same ...

Then this stupid beef will have no legs ...

Africans will continue to exist and thrive no matter what
:patrice:Hip hop is LITERALLY a 50 year ongoing ADOS conversation in an ADOS space in the form of music. And if we judge by the overarching slang, lingo and memes used on social media, social media is also an ADOS space. The coli is also social media, yet here you are.... interacting...:jbhmm:......:lupe:...:patrice:......:banderas:that cognitive dissonance though

Get the fukk outta here, who the fukk are you to tell me what to be offended by?

I dont give a fukk about the origin of the word, its used in a derogatory way RIGHT NOW. Its use to refer to African Americans as uncivilized, and they teach their children to be wary around us because we're "akata"(uncivilized)

The word negro has an origin outside of racism, you think imma be ok with cacs referring to me as a negro?
