What Tariq says is ultimately his opinion. Same for all pundits on TV, black or not.
Often, I agree with him. Sometimes, I don't. It's not that serious.
Btw, being interviewed on TV doesn't make one a leader. Much more to it than that.
Simply being interviewed does not make one a leader. Obviously dumb nikka.
But, if you are jumping on TV to talk race, politics, etc. vis-a-vis the Black community, you are a leader, breh. Even if it means simply being a thought leader.
Imagine if during Killer Mike's "Bank Black" push or his Pro-Bernie push this past year he'd shirked responsibility as a thought leader whenever people claimed as much about him.
Like it or not, if you have a huge platform and use it to articulate ideas about what Black people should or shouldn't do, you are a thought leader. And that comes with responsibility.
This nikka wants to promote a "code of conduct" among Black folks, but claims to only be an entertainer, not a thought leader!
Why should nikkas listen to anything he has to say if his words are merely edutainment?
