Came in here expecting Tariq did something crazy...find out he's being consistent...the difference here being you democratic water carriers are just bothered by his tone and usual message.

Tariq doesn't move the needle like that, he's just reflecting the post-Obama malaise in the Black community. He's preaching to the choir.

That's what he does. These people have zero interest in reality or black issues, and instead obsess over abstract agendas and an insular message that boils down to "don't listen to anyone but me. Everyone else is wrong or an agent."

Voting is important. Two years after the 2016 election that's so obvious I don't even have to defend the point. Long story short, the faux militants and bullshyt artists took an L. Now they're back in the saddle with more bullshyt arguing black people should stay home again. Well thankfully we already know their message isn't working, based on early vote numbers.

There are important ballot propositions to vote for. There are progressive black candidates to vote for. There are important SoS candidates to vote for. Vote. Stop listening to con men who hustle whatever bullshyt they think people want to hear (rapper to pimp to faux woke).
“Abstract” agendas? Many intelligent black folks have outlined policies they would love to see a politician get behind.

Hmm, public schools with majority black students are underfunded and lack resources for students who will enter the workforce post high school. Many banks (primarily in California) routinely discriminate against black patrons who seek home or business loans.
REPARATIONS! And that doesn’t have to be in a monetary form...privilege exclusively given to DOS blacks in the form of debt forgiveness or priority in employment...
I have a laundry list of agendas, so don’t play that shyt. Ain’t nothing abstract about what bruthas are talking about

I would love it if one of these Youtubers actually wrote a bill and used their base to get it into the Senate, but then again that's asking for a tangible "agenda" and action.

For you slow people: How to Write a Bill for the United States Congress

I'm starting to question the mental capacity of our youth if they decide not to vote whatsoever (not even for third parties) because of some youtubers and some social media posts. I understand why people want to 'abandon Blackistan' now. But at the same time I want to actually cape for my community.

If you can't help a politician get or stay in office, he/she doesn't have to pay attention to you or your interests. PERIOD.
Voting blocs deliver votes & lobby groups/private donors contribute dollars to political campaigns.....Anything else is just a bunch of tongue flapping, running around in circles, and "hoping" politicians support your interests.

I think we all learned this in middle school.

I did at least. Somebody with common sense.

Part of the problem is that Black people don't lobby like other groups. Tweeting at a favorite politician does not count. People in this thread have mentioned the lgbt and latino communities but they actually put money behind their public interest groups. They have many lawyers that work pro bono for undocumented people within their own community, etc. We just don't have those resources. We don't even have local ombudsmen.

He’s only speaking about a certain segment within these groups. Brutha, we know you’re an ally and very much black first. However, you can’t get upset when he calls out the Caribbean bros and CA’s that sell out black Americans to get a check or a pat on the head. I get it, I would take it personal when nikkas called out the black gays who act as surrogates for white supremacy. But I know I’m not one of them gay c00ns so there’s no reason for me to get offended
