Let’s work through this. If 100% of black people don’t vote. Then what?

Lets work this out.

You say you want to do what you perceive other demographics do. Lets see how realistic this is...

  • You claim no one talks to black voters and you want to withdraw until they take you seriously
  • So you say, well lets develop an economic base, then push what we want when we find politicians who fit our agenda.
    • Are there enough black people to do this?
    • What is the benefit of doing this?
    • Why do you need policies that only benefit black people? (you need to ask this)
    • Can your policies be enacted only with a black only coalition?
  • What agenda? OK...so lets say you manage to find this agenda AND get enough black people to support it. (reality: you probably won't)
  • So until this point, none of you have voted and are working to develop a "Goldilocks zone" of economics...whatever that is. How do you know when you've done enough?
    • What does the economic base look like?
    • How many years are you going to wait for this "economic base?"
    • How many people are in this base?
    • What statistics let you know you've met your goals?
    • Are you politically engaged at any point during this development period?
  • So when you finally reach this threshold of "economic influence" over X years of development...then do you vote?
    • How do you choose a candidate?
    • Do you make compromises?
    • Do you trade favors?
    • How attached to your platform are you?
    • How long will you give a politician to achieve your goals?
    • How many politicians do you need to specifically achieve your goal?
    • Are your goals local or national?
    • Will your goals look the same everywhere?
  • So how you have reached the economics Goldilocks zone, you have a platform, and you've chosen candidates to support. Lets talk about what laws you want to change
    • Are these laws discriminatory?
    • Will they be passed by the opposition party?
    • Will they survive a legal challenge in the courts?
    • How resilient are these proposals over time to challenges from political oppositions?
  • Now, some time has passed and you aren't satisfied. (HINT: NO ONE IS SATISFIED) You need to reassess.
    • Why wasn't your entire platform achieved?
    • Were the negotiations and compromises you made similar enough to your initial plan?
    • Do you need to change representatives?
    • Is there something wrong with your platform?
Lets compare this to some other points:
  • Every lobbying group makes compromise
  • Having 100% of support on your side isn't enough, you need majorities and coalitions to achieve victory
  • The opposition party is never satisfied, so don't think satisfaction is entirely possible
  • How do you engage politicians who are less likely to listen to you in the first place? Do you think withdrawing will draw them closer to you or farther from you?

What's my point of this thread?

The time to be a choosy-suzy is during the PRIMARY ELECTIONS
...thats when you can choose to be picky and selective about your ideal candidate. That includes negotiations, platforms, and other filters to pick the best candidate of the ones available...or to run a candidate of your own choosing.

THE TIME TO SEAL THE DEAL IS DURING THE GENERAL ELECTIONS!

You don't negotiate during the general election!

George Wallace before

George Wallace after

George Wallace quote from before
"I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny, and I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, "segregation forever."

George Wallace quote from before
"I shall resist any illegal federal court order, even to the point of standing at the schoolhouse door in person, if necessary."

Now, write a thesis paper on why people shouldn't be offended by Wallace's words from before...how it was learned behavior, and that since he worked with Civil Rights leaders later in life that we should forget his earlier life.

Yep, "George Wallace, trendsetter in anti-racism and inspiration to Black freedom fighters everywhere." :comeon:

You're so deep in the false equivalencies I'm surprised you didn't just go ahead and post Trump quotes. :mjlol:

Wait, failing to hold Trump accountable is what ya'all are actually running with in this thread. :gucci:
