Racism is "I don't like black people they're all lazy, so I'm going to pass laws and enact policies to make sure they cannot compete economically.
Don't confuse racism with the actions a racist takes using their power and influence.

racism itself is a doctrine or set of beliefs that one's given race is superior to other races and others are inferior because of race. some that adhere to that have power ie Donald Sterling and some that adhere to it live in a ran down trailer park in Oklahoma.

one could be a powerful racist or a powerless racist. impact doesn't negate existence.

At this point you're arguing semantics, so I'll ignore that and get the heart of the discussion. Since both whites and blacks can be racist according to you, please show me examples of black racism and how it negatively impacted the lives of white Americans. @marcuz asked you earlier in this thread, and you never answered him, so I'll hope you'll drop some info on me.

one thing ya'll need to stop doing is saying that the voice on the tape is "allegedly" Sterling...no nikka...it is sterling

Until Sterling comes out and says he says it, it's allegedly him.

And even after he admits it was him,we still can't prove he's racist because the real racists in this country are the ones who say racist things about white people.

@winb83 white?? I thought he was a black dude according to the profile in his sig...

Anyway, I had this EXACT argument earlier today with this white dude on a friends facebook status. Dude basically was throwing out strawman arguments about how blacks can be racist and racism can have black people use it blah blah. I asked him if "ism" doesn't denote a system or policy etc.? He said no and that my definition was some made up afrocentric bs. I asked for him to show me somewhere where there's a collective group of blacks hell bent on destroying white people's lives, subjugating them to harsh laws and disenfranchising them. Dude straight up skipped the question. shyt had me heated :smh:.

I learned a long time ago not to be upset at cacs for cacing. We should never waste our time trying to convince white people about their racism. shyt during slavery cacs were like "Race problem? What race problem :what:???"

Even on this site, I never really argue with cacs. I try to efficiently make my points so that if someone black were to read it, they can understand the nature of the cac and how much they hate us.

racism isn't a verb. its not an action you take. look it up in the damn dictionary before you go commenting on what it is.

how does one give you an example of a set of beliefs? especially a set of beliefs that people attempt to hide and or lie about because it's considered taboo to have them? It's like you asking me to give you an example of Christianity. That's a set of beliefs not an action. now some Christians may travel to a foreign country and build a school for underprivileged kids. other Christians might be homeless on the street. don't confuse their action with the doctrine or set of beliefs itself.

you can't redefine a word based on your opinion. i never said black racism has deep seated effects on society or whites i simply said race is like any other group defining trait and human beings are capable of hating anything because its different.

a racist is to racism what a christian is to christianity. you don't have to have power and influence to believe in racism or be a racist. A lot of you are confusing institutional racism with racism itself. one is a construct of society based on the belief in the other by specific people who have power and influence.

there is no such thing as black institutional racism because blacks don't hold enough power is society as a whole to establish such a thing. black racism on the other hand exist and doesn't require anything more than belief in the concept itself to do so.

i find it baffling that this has to be explicitly stated. even more baffling that some of you believe for an ideal to even exist it must be held by people of power and influence.

Black "racism" = bigotry, which Tariq says does exist.

The term racism has been reduced to nothing and is not worth using or discussing as it has essentially been destroyed, ironically, by racists. The issue is white supremacy which is much more clear cut and hard to argue against.
