I agree with Tariq on his rating and I've heard Umar Johnson make similar statements in regard to Obama. Obama didn't approach the black community and ask what we wanted if he gets in office because we A.) Didn't have the economic muscle and B.) We didn't have a plan of action. so yes his presidency as it pertains to black people is much more symbolic than it is beneficial to our community. It's been that way with blacks and politicians (particularly Democrats) for a long time now and we still haven't figured it out. I'm in the school of thought with Claude Anderson where he says we have the process all wrong in that we look to politicians first to get things done when the economics are much more reliable and go further in the betterment of our community.
