I think it's pretty straightforward. The incident itself did not involve a black or brown person committing the alleged crime in which two white males are accused. The people in this thread, the tweets from Tariq Nasheed and Ricky Rawls are pointing out that the article is being used to disparage heterosexual black males. Adding that the writer also mentioned brown males is a distinction without a difference given the context of situation since the crime was not an act of black or brown homophobia.
