But the OSU coaching staff doesn't believe in him if they're welcoming Fields with open arms. Compete for what.. the writings on the wall. There's 50 other D1 schools that need a starting QB so why play the Jalen Hurts role and delay the process. The ultimate goal should be to get to the NFL

You reach a point as a school where if you're trying to position and sell yourself as a perennial title contender you HAVE to be willing to take on as many of the best players if they're willing to show up, even if either side knows it'll result in someone somewhere getting stuffed on the bench/eating a redshirt. You gotta have depth in case your first option gets hurt, or just doesn't have it. Also, from the school's standpoint, it's worth it to pick a player up you may not use just to make sure he's off the table for a couple years for everyone else.

If Tathan really had it like that, he would've beat out Haskins for the job this year.

Haskins n Fields been cool and work with the same qb coach in the offseason. Their qb coach Avery wanted Fields to play for Day. Fields reached out to Haskins to see what he was gonna do. OSU couldn’t even talk to Fields until he went into the portal. Nikka u clueless.
