Superstar
If you slot him with the elite superstars of the 2020s era, he's barely making Top 5. Jokic, Giannis, and Luka are lock Big 3 of this era...
I'd probably give Tatum the lean over Shai, because Tatum is always on deep playoff runs. But it's close and you could make the argument Shai is better...
So then, if you're pro-Shai, that makes Tatum at best, the 5th best player of his era. Embiid is probably finished but he did have a higher peak than Tatum...
Then all the 2010s OGs that are still outshining him. Steph and Bron certainly. KD and AD arguably...
Then you have Jimmy, who is the age of the 2010s guys, but didn't peak in that era, Jimmy's peak basketball production is 2020s Era. You could argue he's better than Tatum at peak...
It's just easy to forget about guys past the Top 4 of an era. Tell me the 5th best player in every preceding generation off top of your head. #5, and certainly guys after that, are easily forgotten, you can write the story of basketball without them...
Tatum is a wonderful player. But you can tell the story of 2020s NBA without him. Now, you can't tell the story of the 20s Celtics without him, but the 20s NBA as a whole? You can tell it without him and that's why he's not spoken of as often...
Ella Mai one of the finest women I've ever seen though, salute this nikka for that alone!
