Filing for myself. I am underneath the threshold that requires you to pay so I should be pretty straightforward. Takes a good 1-3 hours though which is tedious

Online for free. Can't use turbotax cause I have a 1099-misc/schedule c to file so freetaxusa for the fed and state tax form for the state.

I always do it through turbo tax and then take it to my accountant. If he can't get me back more, then I just pay the turbo tax fee. He doesn't like that though and I understand why, but I don't care because he also won't give me any guidance when I ask him questions, even if I'm willing to pay. He just says "Bring me your paperwork and I'll look over it". This year is a bit complicated because I purchased a home and also have self employment income, but I may just bite the bullet, do some research and do them myself this year again.

I do mine thru turbo tax. Just got a w2 and some 1099s from online banks and investment accounts. Nothing too complicated. Don't own a house....yet. And not a student. I just snap a pic of my w2 on there and my info is all saved. Paid $30 for the return that included finding my info easier. They accept Google pay. Had gotten a $10 gift card for Christmas and had like $13 in from my survey rewards account so ended up paying like $7 total.
