He's not a NFL prospect as a QB. He plays in a gimmick Air Raid offense. And he sucked as a QB when TCU ran more of a Pro-Style Spread back in 2013 & 2012.

Even with the success he had last year/2014, in certain games (i.e. Texas and Ole' Miss) you could tell his success because of Air Raid system not because he became a better QB.

But he had a really good combine and his 4.4 40 solidified him being a top 5 pick. That's why the Redskins () traded up to get him

Forgot about cornball, but you're right. I remember him having a 1st Rd grade prior to the combine, but his performance did move him to the top of the draft

I believe Cam Newton's combine also helped his case, but in general only black athletic freak QBs are helped by combine performances. I can't think of a non-black athletic QB who benefitted from going to the combine. Bridgewater fell to Minnesota on the back of his poor Combine outing. Geno's strong running times didn't seem to help him either. Did Campbell's Combine improve his stock?
