I'm not all that trustworthy of the current crop of American basketball stars "getting the job done" at the next Olympics.

Anything can happen in 3 years. People keep bringing up Jokić & Giannis like they won’t be 3 years older with high mileage on them. Our current crop of cats 25 & under are a lot better than the other countries.

I mentioned 2004 because it's not a given that the US will win gold at the Olympics.

Anyway, I'm usually 95-99% confident that the US will win gold at the Olympics. However, with the current crop of players leading the charge, I'm only about 70-80% confident.

Obviously, depending on what happens in the next 3 years, my confidence level could rise (or lower)

You have to be a clear cut superstar to make it as a non-Nike player. Haliburton might not even make it now that he’s with Puma. Flagg is New Balance if I remember correctly but they’ll have no choice but to put him on the team
