I love this city. Only a few other places I'd live and I'd need to be paid a lot more to live there.

The Only places down south I would consider moving to is Atlanta and Houston and MAYBE Charlotte. Apart from that I’ll not moving past DC

You can't equate Texas with your fears about California. This is where it stems from. I can see it.



And lets be really real. Alot of the South and eastcoast is visually ugly. Eastcoast is known more so for the structural beauty of the cities. Southeast is moreso known for the beauty of the older Southern architecture. Atlanta and the piedmont may be pretty because of hills and mountains and crap, but what Houston or East Texas lacks in hills, it makes it up in beaches. Not only that, nearby Austin has hills and stuff. It's literally in the Hill Country. Texas is a big state, so defining the state by one landscape doesn't make much since breh. But, believe what you want.

Not only that, but East Texas is traditionally Southern with a large ADOS base, ADOS wealth/upward mobility and HBCU's along with Southern PWI's. Houston, East Texas and DFW have an abundance of historic ADOS communities, institutions, and wealth despite the Hispanic influx. The eastern half of the state is very much culturally inline with GA and the Southeastern US. Now once you drive west of I-35? Things start to change.

The eastern half of the state looks like pretty much anywhere in the Southeast including parts of ATL. Houston is sub tropical with palm trees and beaches. Plus East Texas is Southern and black AF. Same with DFW. Have y'all been to Texas or are y'all going by cartoons? Don't let The Coli be your geography class breh.

Its alot of hispanics here. Like plenty of em. Especially round Atlanta. Its more than a few places where everything is spanish speaking only. Asians/Indians pretty deep too.

I interned a little bit in Ohio when I was in college. One winter up there was all I needed to let me know that I had no intentions of ever leaving the south.

Atlanta is more than 50% black so if tech is fueling the reverse migration it should Show in the demographics of the companies.

Houston - 16% of the workforce while having a 25% black population.

Charlotte - 21% of the workforce while having a 35% Black population

Washington DC - 22% of the workforce while having a 50.7% black population

Jacksonville, FL - 15% of the workforce while having a 30.7% black population

Dallas, TX - 12% of the workforce while having a 25% black population

Durham, NC - 24% of the workforce while having a 41% black population

Virginia Beach, VA - 19% of the workforce while having a 19.6% black population


Atlanta - 22% of the workforce while having a 51% black population
