Man you got to grind in tech man she would be good in 3 months anyway if she gets a contract gig but thats always been the name of the game since I been in it since 2011

Tech has no job security. Move accordingly. They will cut high performers easily. If your project or department isn’t making money you’re out.

This isn’t really an L. At that salary the severance is probably good enough for 6 months, plus whatever they’ve saved up over the course of the job.

The last time I got laid off at a tech job I walked out the door with a lump sum of 35k deposited in my account the next pay day. Took three months off to chill and recharge then found a new job within a few weeks.

Keep in mind most jobs in the US outside of tech companies don’t offer any severance or have the courtesy to pay you for the rest of the pay period on your last day.

Make $100k plus for 6 months and get fired or laid off...:wow:

doesnt matter how much you make if you cant keep the job longer than 5 years...

idk who she is but she has the potential to work on her personal brand and branding. she has a lot of potential to use her Youtube channel to propel her. she has an audience... ppl are flocking to her video, perfect time for her to release a digital product or sell something to the ppl

My boomer parents used to act disappointed when I would move around in my contract days thinking you can just stay at one job and retire :mjlol: . Yeah I always tell them yeah I make money but in relation to what they made in the 80s and 90s adjusted for inflation they was probably making more.

Her bigger problem is a mortgage payment approaching 3K. And she already scheduled a trip to New Zealand before getting laid off

Whatever severance package she gets probably wouldn't last long with her spending habits. I wouldn't be planning an overseas trip in this poor economy. And I probably make way more than she does.

True, I didn’t watch the entire video but I’m not surprised at this revelation considering women in general are usually terrible with finances.

And a 3k mortgage is egregious. I don’t even wanna know the specifics of that loan, it’d probably ruin my day at this point.

yeah she can cancel her trip and get a credit... she could also apply for unemployment and take the trip 🤷‍♂️.

High salary usually means high expenses. Plus in the US a lot of the severances are shyt.

My mortgage right now is $4300 (it used to be $1k higher - yay Canada). If I had no savings or other income streams, job loss would fukk me. Unemployment is literally pocket change.
