i agree completely with the premise that consistency in a series is more important than the overall averages. playing well enough to win 4 games and not playing poorly enough to lose 4 games. its also why lebron's 2009 series vs the magic is overrated as great as his overall numbers were, he shot 40% or below or had more turnovers than assists in 4 out of 6 games in that series.

LeBron Stans will argue tooth and nail that it’s better to average 70% shooting one game and 30% shooting in the other games than it is to average 44% night in and night out

They really need to create a stat for median values because you can manipulate how someone performed with averages.
