Is the difference in equipment that big a deal? I got some Wilson irons. I have no idea if it's limiting me or if I'm good enough to notice or improve with better equipment.

I got a Taylormade M2 driver and I swear I hit it just as bad as a driver half the price.

It can be. Better and newer woods/drivers will go farther and be more forgiving than older clubs. Irons, a little less so, but more about finding the right fit. Something you feel comfortable with. I still play 20 year old Hogan's because I know what they're gonna do.

But nothing's going to be a miracle cure for a shaky swing.

Depending on your swing speed/ball flight, the shaft in your driver could be killing you.

When was the last time you saw a guy open with a round of 75 and go on to win the tournament?

I thought that chip out back into the fairway on the par-5 ended up being the greatest move of the day. Rahm is growing up.

I played this course this weekend - Little Bennett Golf Course

A lot of blind shots and elevation changes. If you can move the ball then you're gonna love this course. Course management is important. Shot a 46 in the front because i used driver when i should have gone with an iron. Shot 40 on the back nine with a better course management. Still lost at least 5 strokes with inconsistent short game (nuked a few putts and left some chips too short).

I think dikk's charges a small amount to fit clubs. I had mine done at the PGA Superstore but it was years ago.

But a shaft isn't really going to fix a slice
