You can call it nature, believers will continue to call it God. We're adults here we don't have to agree, but simply come to an understanding/respect of one another. You're not just attacking me? I'm offended. If you feel that I attacked you in any way that wasn't my intent. My only objective was to answer the question you posed without over reaching or stepping on any toes. A Christian relying on a moral compass defeats the purpose of believing in the Gospel.The point I was trying to make (according to my faith) is that life after death is a gift only granted by God to those who he sees as His children/heirs. Please be advised that even people who are a Christians can be shyt while they believe in God yet act like a heathen- there should be no sense of entitlement because they still sin daily. (picture a Christian man who continues to steal even when he knows it is not of God to take what it is not yours). If you believe that being generous and kind will reap you the benefits that you desire, then that's fine too- I'm not in any position to shame or look down on anyone regardless of how they carry themselves.

That's just a bunch of fluff. Whether people call themselves "atheists" as a label or not isn't really relevant. Y'all call me an atheist and I don't call myself one. The relevant point is people are fleeing religion at an increasing rate. It's the dogma of religion, and of blind adherence to supernatural causation and meaning that has tangible effects on society. That is declining. If someone calls themselves "spiritual but not religious" rather than "atheist," but isn't looking for God as causation for everything and basically keeps their beliefs a private matter as far as action goes, there isn't much of a net difference for society between them and atheists.

However, the majority of spiritual people either believe in a creator OR believe in a conscious universe.
