Didn't really want to start anything, just letting lurkers know that Tekken is far superior in every way and doesn't have to rely on rehashes of the same game

I see what you saying. The impact of Street fighter is greater, it might be the most famous fighter of all time, but it's far from the best.
nikka u know damn well Tekken never borrowed anything from Street Fighter. To be real a lot of games borrowed from Tekken too (Dead or alive).
Everybody and their mama had Tekken 3. We used to be like 10 bad ass kids playing king of the hill....all day.

Of course it did. Fei Long was the first Bruce Lee clone, not Law. Paul is the prototypical SHOTO in garb, Hell if we are gonna be honest, the very concept of life bars and super moves all came from Capcom and Street Fighter bro....Tekken is good but the only original thing it has going is the Devil gene and the fact it use Capoiera fighters first.

But to be honest i think to even compare them is hell dumb, the mechanics aren't even the same. One is 2d one is 3d, you wouldn't compare football and futbol same name, totally different sports.

A better comparison is SF and KOF or Tekken and SC or DOA

@ Tekken 3 being the best fighting game ever. It's not even better than any of the Street Fighter EX games. Only form of Tekken that can be in contention for GOAT fighting game is Tekken Tag and maybe Tekken 5, but KOF 98/Street Fighter (Alpha series, Street Fighter III series) take a serious shyt on those.

Hm..it's a tie for me really, when it comes to SF vs KOF. On one hand SF pretty much laid out the blueprint for how fighting games are put together, but KOF takes fighting game mechanics to a whole other level.

It's like comparing Rakim (SF) to Nas (KOF), can't really go wrong with either one, imo.

Street fighter alpha series probably some of the best fighting games I've played. Plus Marvel vs Capcom is fire! Never got into Tekken but all this fighting game talk makes me really miss when fighting games dominated gaming. They need to make a come back

I probably win more in tekken, but I don't know if I'd say its the better series. SF is legendary, son. Iconic moves and characters. I mean damn near everyone has a Ryu clone.

Hold on dog, tekken wasn't the first to use a capoeira fighter either. Fatal Fury was.
