His" ignorance and intolerance" isn't backed by the state.

But he would wish it to be so, making him no different from the people he claims to hate.

Why do you support the ten commandments on state property funded by I'm assuming taxpayers?

:dead:

I wouldn't have petitioned for it to be placed there but I wouldn't have opposed it either.

Nope. The man used violence to spread his political message, without a care for his or others' safety. This is terrorism and the perpetrator is an extremist. I hope he gets the book thrown at him.

:usure:

Really dude? So if a black guy drove into a confederate momentum and destroyed it will you consider that an act of terrorism too?

It depends on the man's reasons for doing it.

Let's say his reasons are similar to the guy in the OP story.

He was sending a political message which is that confederate monuments much like religious monuments shouldn't be built on government property.

So is that an act of terrorism or not?

Well, if we were to go by the definition of the word 'terrorism' then that would check most of the boxes. Just like those Christian extremists who bomb family planning clinics are terrorists.

Not true this is the definition of terrorism: "the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims."

In the OP story and in my hypothetical story no person or civilian was targeted, so its missing the most important element to consider it an act of terror.

That's true. I was wrong; it was an act of vandalism rather than terrorism. I still hope that the perpetrator gets the book thrown at him.

He definitely should be punished, you just cannot go around destroying public properties.
