He'll still be around and will still have fans, but I won't be one of em. I tried to give his music a go more than I would for most artists because I like honest, alternative, mature hip hop. But his shyt is just so wack to me. Yeah he ain't talking thug shyt but his music is still incredibly shallow and contrived. I can't rock with that shyt.

see that's what i'm sayin... just because dude ain't doin' "thugged out music" or left field of whatever is the norm or whatever you wanna call it, don't mean his shyt is hot. it's like people wanna say "he good cause he ain't doin' this or that". but just because an artist is doin' one form of an art don't mean it's hot and drake's music is not.

he's a barely average rapper and he can't sing. he's as overrated as they come. but he got a lot of people invested in him and his brand so his shyt will get all of the promotion an artist with talent should get and people eat that shyt up for whatever reason :mjlol:

i don't care how many co signs he gets, drake is corny and so is his music. besides, he's a better actor than rapper and singer :yeshrug:

To echo what others have said in here already, Drake is really good at making popular joints and he has had a pretty successful run so far but 'Im not sure he'll reach legend status without at least ONE classic album. Drake stans won't like to hear it, but he doesn't have that one undeniable, universally agreed upon classic album that I feel you should have in order to reach that status. Ten years is plenty of time tho. Right now he is just known for popular/catchy songs but so was Ja Rule, Nelly etc. I'm not sure if many people consider them legends so I can't call Drake one. To call him one now is just plain wrong imo but like I said he has plenty of time to change minds with great music.

Just curious, if Drake is considered a barely average rapper, who is considered average?

Denial at its finest brehs. Drake will certainly be mentioned heavily when it comes to impact and run in hip hop since 2009. But then again this is defiantly a generation gap occurring here.

The current generation of teens will look at Drake as a legend much like how we see Hov/Pac/Em/Nas/Wayne as legends today. It's different standards of rap they grew up with compared to what we did.

Crazy. Dudes be like 100000 x more talented. Yet never see mainstream success. O well. U getting mad p*ssy Cruz that type of talent translates to playboyism if the powers that be don't wanna fukk with real money making talent. Tons a bytches. Without spending a dime.

Guess that's the curse of being a legendary playboy

I agree with the second half of this post, shyt is alot different and the quality of MCs are definitely lacking. I'm sure the young nikkas of today will consider him a legend(they might say he has a classic album under his belt already) but if I had to decide today I just don't think he'd make the cut. I don't really see his big impact on the game other than some catchy songs and #1 albums. What has he really done that has had/will have a lasting impact. I'm curious.

naw, i'm not one of those old heads who can't appreciate a certain lane or time of music. if it's good or great then it's just that. but if it sucks, it sucks.

just because he's "made some of the most honest music of his generation" don't make or mean it's automatically good or great. one can make "honest music" and it can still be a hot pile of shyt :leostare:

drake's music sucks. brother's voice horrible, his rappin' is wack and his singin' is horrible. he's the definition of overrated but he's got an image and it sells and it works. plus he got a lot of money invested in him. but he's a far better actor than he is rapper and singer

i'll give you example of this new generation who's makin' great "party music", meek mill, yg, schoolboy q, and kendrick lamar :wow:
