It gets a lot of hype due to the regional aspect but In-N-Out is probably one of, if not the best, burgers you can get at that price point. A double-double is $4. Five Guys and Shake Shack burgers are better but their double cheeseburgers are both $10. They're not in the same weight class.
In-N-Out is competing with McDonalds, Burger King, Jack in the Box, etc and it blows those way out the water.
True.
We got a Shake Shack, In N Out, Chick Fil A, McDonald's and Whataburger that all sit within 1/2 mile radius of each other. Probably about 2 minutes from the crib driving.
In N Out = most loyal stans because of the Cali transplants to Texas. Wifey hates their fries so she never wants to go but their burgers are BY FAR the best at the price point. Best "cheap" burger. Strawberry shake is good. Get that 3 x 3 to be in Fatboi City. Great customer service.
Shake Shack = they got a double cheeseburger with jalapeño sausage. Shyt is piff. My location has nothing but brehs and brehettes in the kitchen and they burgers always come out

. Problem is their price point is higher compared to the competition and the burgers are smaller. I can get a bigger/better burger for $3 less at the local spot Jake's down the street. Fries taste just like some Ore Idas from the Walmart freezer.
Whataburger = highest ceiling and lowest floor. When they have good cooks and are doing it right, the flavor is #1 but they're the most inconsistent BY FAR....especially since they got bought by that Chicago company. Service is hit or miss. Spicy ketchup is GOAT. Get that double cheeseburger with cheese and jalapeño.
