How is it fear based when it's factual?
It's fear based as "Media Molecule is doomed and will shut down if Dreams flop" is not a fact. It's not a fact because it isn't like it's been announced that it flopping will result in a closure. We don't know that. who would've known Evolution would've closed down back when Motorstorm came out?

Am I saying otherwise? Nobody is saying studios aren't closing.

I said that the studios that have been closed in the past are typically closed for specific reasons like multiple flops, no profits etc.

You're making it seem like this studio closing is the end of the world which brings me to my next point


Sony has less studios then when they started this gen. That is a fact.
They have less studios, but they still have the most studios themselves out of the others(MS and N). There was 16 last gen, now they're at 12. 4 studios closing isn't the apocalypse which is what some folks are trying to say.

Is closing down a studio due to them not being profitable no longer valid? Unlike Microsoft, Sony has historically always been a platform supported by 3rd party devs. Since PS1. Didn't Kojima just open up a new studio and worked with Sony to bring it to PS4 exclusively?

MS never really had much 1st party titles outside the regular studios which is why people see Xbox closing down another studio as "big" because they damn near don't have any which is precisely the point we're making.

Do you think no more studios will close this gen?
Idk, I can't predict the future. I'll say that out of the 12 major studios I posted above, I don't think any of them will be closing this gen.

If they do :manny: That's the reality we live in studios get closed.

Why does it matter then? They have 12 other studios, plus 2nd and 3rd party partnerships but you're telling us that them losing Cambridge is so devastating. Why? What exactly is it that has you up in arms about GGC? Keep it specific to them and not go on a tangent about "studio closure" and "diversity" which is a broad topic because it sounds like you're trying to create an argument I'm not making(that closing down studios in general doesn't matter) to argue with and trying to make me defend a point that's not mines. People tend to be armchair experts on business side of things too much on here. I think Microsoft, Nintendo or Sony knows more about how to handle their business somewhat more than typical coli posters like us do. :skip:

I still remember MediEvil back in the day. It's top two franchises I wanted to make a comeback along with Dino Crisis. I repped my boy Sir Dan in that Sony Smash Bros game, he was trash tier but I took him to brown belt. :wow:

Don't worry. Sony is just going to rely on third parties for VR going forward.

The rising costs of game development is a very serious and scary problem. Companies left and right will go bankrupt. Games will be cancelled. Big companies will be too afraid to take risks.

Just be glad that Nintendo is making lowend hardware where development isn't super expensive.
What ways can companies make it less expensive?
