Radical islam is a problem in the mideast for a multitude of reasons. But they harm muslims just as bad as they harm the west. Pakistan is dealing with a islmic insurgency in the FATA region. Iran and the shiites in Iraq are fighting ISIS as well as the Kurds who are muslim. Saudi Arabia has spent the last decade trying to contain these groups because jihadist groups hate the persian Gulf monarchies then they do Isreal and iran. They want to overthrow them. Egypt is fighting a islamic insurgency in the Sinai and is a muslim country. I am not caping for Arabs ecause they arent our freinds but in the real wrold there s alot of muslims fighting these groups as we speak. In the Syria the govt of Bashar Assad a shia minority is fighting sunni jihadist. So yeah ther eis resistance in the mideast against these groups. But they are there because they prey on young,uneducated,sexually frustrated (these young boys come from countries whose system of marriage is you need to provide for your family. If you are poor you aint gonna get married. Some of the beautiful women in their villages get married to the Lawyer,soldier,buisness man in the big city or another country) and they brainwash them to join jihad.
The funding they get from the Persian Gulf is complicated but I'll expain in it to you. In Saudi Arabia there is the clerical religious class. They made an agreement with the House of Saud to allow them to rule Arabia as long the clerical class can practice wahhabi Islam. Now alot of wealthy buisness men in Saudi Arabia and the gulf send money to these groups. The royal family can't touch them because they could be related to a major cleric or have ties to the clerical class. If Saudi Arabia tried to crackdown on the funding today there would an islamist uprising in the country that would be a bloodbath. The Mideast is complicated. Its not black and white.
