Tessa Thompson refused to say Philly slang “Jawn” in “Creed III.” Is anyone else too good to use African American slang?

So you hate (bad) actors that can’t get the accents/language of the characters they’re portraying down correctly?

I agree with that, and I guess it makes sense….if Tessa and the film team felt like she couldn’t get it down, even after the 2 other films. Might as well ditch it.

But the idea of evolving beyond from where they came from in certain contexts is flippant, even tho it’s also real.

Makes sense to me. I think its been about a decade, shes not around the same demographics:mjpls:

Rocky didnt talk the same as he did in Rocky 1 by the time we got to Rocky 3. And I thought he talked like that in Rocky 1 due to brain damage:mjlol:.

Then why would you act? To be yourself? Lol
If you were a big actor and played a character, you would eventually feel like you have a better idea of who they are as time goes on. If you feel like you character would or wouldn’t say this or do this and that you would probably atleast ask the director about it. Directors listen to big actors and actresses and in literally every movie you see, there was a scene where the actor went off script during filming and the director just kept it there or in the case the actor / actress lets them know first. Denzel in training Day, heath ledger as Joker… actors change up lines because they feel they are deeply in tune and immersed with their character
