Just because you wear a face mask and wash your hands doesn't mean you don't occasionally slip up. Doctors have said some people who thought they were following proper social distancing and being mindful of their hygiene might have touched their door handle without realizing that someone with the virus walked by an hour earlier and coughed or skimmed the surface. Experts believe that there are blind spots we suffer from when outside, instances that we don't even consider, which is contributing to much of the infections. To properly guard yourself against infection, you have be obsessively vigilant and always mindful of everything your fingers touch, never failing to keep your hands clean after touching ANY SURFACE outside your home. ANY SURFACE. NO EXCEPTIONS. And the VAST majority of the public is not going to go to such lengths, unfortunately.
