And just like how predicted

No response after I made ur liittle childish posts look like what it is

Childish

Hold that L @The Ruler 09

I see u dodging :sas1:

I'll quote it again to make sure u see it :sas1:
Never said this was one

IBut remember intliectual's thread

even tho an obvious troll thread u had the most damn posts in that thread

That line is rather humorous to me

But no...u keep repeating the "just a baby" line as if that goes against the case of this album's depth

But good writers of all genres that contain songs, all use repetition such as that to make their lines memorable

What makes that line so good tho was that in using the "just a baby" as a sort of period to a sentence he also managed to effortlessy reference classic hip hop albums in a way that most people who first heard that part of the verse would not catch it

"Rain like a slight chance of rain when its raining"
His own silly way of clearing up the homophone of "girls reigning all over the world"
and giving all types of way the homophone of "reign" which is "rain" is used and clarifying that is not the "rain" he is talking about so which is why he says

"And not rain like, rain man, or rain like rain dance
Or rain( like a slight chance of rain when its raining"

So that line basically says

Not rain like how its used in rain man or in rain dance
or not how its used in a slight chance of rain when its raining

Nothing wrong with this line in the surrounding context and it's actually a pretty cool line

I havent said much on this album, Ive been listening to it and drawing my own meanings without really reading any text or trying too hard

For me personally, I dont really indulge in the multiple meanings and RapGenius-esque breakdowns of the songs. I did try spinning the album backwards and it sounded surprisingly good, better even. Ending the album on Mural makes much more sense than starting with it.

I tip my hat to this album strictly because Lupe demonstrates a level of craft that I have yet to see displayed elsewhere in rap. Sure you dont HAVE TO be all extra with the multis and entendres, but every now and then I catch something he said and its really pretty fukking crazy and impressive.

We get so much disposable music, week after week, year after year, when someone takes the time to make something like thism I truly consider it a work of art and proof that hip-hop is more valuable in the artistic hierarchy than some people may care to admit. The album exemplifies SKILL and brilliance, even if it does border on being over-indulgent and cryptic a lot of the time.

Hyperbole will cause us to debate whether the album is "INSTANT CLASSIC ZOMG" or a "boring piece of shyt for nerds and CACs", but Lupe did something special here.

What other album can you realistically compare this to?

Mural starts things off badly for me. It's a tedious Lyrical Exercise in futility.

The production & hooks are better than he's had for a long time. IN the majority the flows are better and looser than what he's been doing recently.

I've always been a fan of lyrics but the olderi get and understand the power of words,i realize that if you really, really want to say something, you can lose both the message and the true motivation of the messenger in the maze of words he catapults at listeners, the message is easier then the words used imo.I think it was GZA who said ":lupe:
Yo, too many songs, weak rhymes that's mad long
Make it brief Son, half short and twice strong"

I been saying this for years...he's a smart dumb nikka that try to be abstract
and you would be incorrectly characterizing lupe. he is a smart dude that is abstract in his thoughts.

you dont have to be smart dumb to make songs like this. sorry. just because YOU personally are to lazy to think when listening to music. and you only want music for strip clubs/regular clubs and working out. thats not everyone elses thing. thats YOU. thats fine its YOU. but it aint me and a lot of other fans of this type of music. I like it all. give me some simple southern music on a friday night, but on a monday morning heady to school or work, i need something else in my headphones or thru my speakers. i dont want to be in the strip club at 7am on monday morning. i'm just sayin.

got to 23:00
and let it roll. do not stop listening. This is for all you lupe haters, or even those say "i use to like him but..."

he is answering all of your questions you have about him. Now know. What will you do about it after you have the knowledge? Will you still hate or say "i no longer like lupe?" We'll see

That's cool too but people acting like this album's recorded in spanish or somethin... :why:

If you can't figure out the messages being said in ANY part of this album then something is VERY wrong with the listener.

Prisoner 1&2, Chopper, Madonna, Deliver, No Scratches, etc.

The majority of the album has something the listener can take in as straightforward despite the multiple underlying interpretations.
