Why are these people hating on gawdvennati when he’s part of the team to take down trump?:patrice:

I kinda see their point. Here in TX Beto go ahead his own way but driving to every county and talking to all the people and that has managed to sway some moderates and even some republicans his way. His message over and over is that he is not running against anyone and is running for ALL the people of Texas and that has won over some people. Having some big progressive or DNC or whoever come here and do a big rally may be a negative.

He didnt shun the DNC but they are not actively promoting him either like they are with everyone else. People on sm have been questioning why and I am also curious if he asked them or if he wasnt their pick. When he ran for the house, they endorsed and financially supported his opponent during the primary.
A reporter even asked him about this last week.

The DNC are sorta losers. They’re corporate backed. They stayed away from Jon ossoff. They stayed away from jones in Alabama.

Campaigns are local. Think of campaigns like a response to an infection. You don’t want the big guns for a scraped knee. The local chapters should be sufficient enough. The National guys should only come around after you have won. It’s the local organizations that should build you up.

What are the Texas Democrats doing?

Yeah I figured the reason they are staying away is because he is not a fan of taking PAC or corporate money. The Texas Democrats have been supporting him on SM so that helps but when my friend was walking doors last week, she said even the local Texas democrats are not as involved in his campaign as they are with other democrats. He rose to these heights on his own and is not a DNC darling at all. If he can pull of a win, that would be amazing.
