I'm a Texas alum and I have been saying that Mack Brown needs to go for years. He is not a good football coach, he was a great recruiter, but how hard is it to recruit football players to come to Texas?....They have world class facilities, very good academics, national clout, their own channel, bomb ass city with fine ass women, etc. But once you start losing for a few years, these young kids forget about your program. They go to whatever the hot school is at the time, that is why this shyt goes in cycles. They should have went to Muschamp after that pitiful season a few years back. The school needs someone with an NFL pedigree, like a Jon Gruden or something.

They could have gave me a dorm room and paid me in p*ssy, food, and alcohol and I could have recruited 2 5 stars to come down there and play...

Miami messed up with their recruiting violations. Any school will suffer when that happens. If we fire Mack, some of the top coaches in the country would throw their team and schools in the bushes ASAP.

Pressure is on, I think this is his last year. I'm sure some boosters are at his throat right now after this recruiting class.

Stanford and nd pushed you around because they had depth at the lines and beat you up. Kiffin isnt incredible but mack is awful now

Sadly I agree. But what's sadder is that Texas has been to 2 BCS championships in 8 years and that is a tremendous accomplishment, for any other school that's not Texas or Alabama...

Mack got to go, plain and simple. The guy is the highest paid government employee in the state, for what? We already know he can't coach. He can't develop players. He can't even run a disciplined program anymore. This is has been a pathetic recruiting season. Aggies took like 3 or 4 of our original commits. Kids in the hood don't want to play for this fakkit anymore. Sumlin has South Dallas on lock and is about to lockdown Houston too. But that's what you get when you get lazy after Vince Young hands you a championship. How the fukk does Ohio State have more commitments from the Texas top 15 then you? This is a wine and cheese program where schmoozing with the elite alumni is given prescident over tackling in practice. Yep, this clown panicked a few years ago when Bama pushed our wig back in the trenches and decided to go to a power running game. Problem is that is not the identity of Texas high school football right now and he doesn't even allow tackling to the ground in practice. shyt like that is what drove Muschamp crazy. SMH...mack has to go. Last two months of recruiting has been terrible. Sumlin has sonned him over and over and over and over again. He already has two of the top players from 2014. We've lost multiple recruiting battles with Baylor for God's sakes! Has anyone ever been to that dump Waco?! HAHAHA I don't blame them tho, more Baylor players are getting drafted in the 1st rd then these soft underdeveloped players Mack is pushing out every year. The one thing Mack always had was recruiting, now he is losing that. What good is he now? The issue is, I wish he bowed out gracefully and retired a few years ago when there were better coaching replacements available like Muschamp or Meyer. We still have a great coach 4 hours north in Gary Patterson we can pick off anytime we want but I don't know if the wine and cheese alums will like him.

Exactly. We had a good thing going with the zone read and shotgun spread offense. It was a perfect offense for the type of skill players that are coming out of the state. Panicking because Colt McCoy hurt his shoulder in that national championship game was stupid. Smash mouth football does not work unless you have the right coach, culture, or S&C program to pull it off. This is the place where 5* linemen come to die so trying to do it with a weak to average line was incredibly stupid.

Now I hear that Mackie has panicked again seeing the success Sumlin has had in his system so we might be switching back slightly next season.

First of all, UT's class is actually pretty good per recruit. The number is small because there simply aren't available scholarships and UT won't oversign. The lost of the two DTs was huge though. Would have shut up a lot of the oohs and ahhs.

Its interesting to read perceptions of UT from around the country. UT isn't Alabama. It isn't Oklahoma. Its isn't even Georgia. There's not a win at all cost mentally from the higher ups, and they have been trying to run off the "money people" for years. Just not the way things are done. The president is far more concerned with getting UT to an elite level academically. Admission requirements are climbing and so is want for the type of facility that will continue the climb up the academic rankings. That's why they don't give a damn about what Dodds does as long as he makes money and keeps the athletic department profitable. Part of that is why you're hearing rumblings about building and on campus med school and tearing down the Erwin Center. Not to mention UT regents and President are at war with the Governor about UTs future. UT is wanting a UC-Berkeley level school, while the Governor(A&M alum) wants the status quo and a cheaper school. Meanwhile A&M has made it their priority all the way from top to bottom to becoming a great football school. So the next time you see UT a consistent winner will be the next time they luck out and get a penny pincher that just so happens to want to win. Otherwise, welcome to 1984 again. Will probably be 20 years before you see anything above mediocre. If that means UT will become the next great public University, then fukk football. Would be nice to be good at sports again though.

Academics and focus in academia never stopped michigan or nd and hasnt stopped stanford as of late. Gtfoh with this apologetic rationale. UT has the biggest and most valuable football program in america. they created an ENTIRE NETWORK FOR THEIR ATHLETIC PROGRAMS.
