Yeah that's poor insulation to be honest.

I gotta be real about Florida I hate this place but they building are insulated pretty well down south.

Even when it get's to the 40's which is rare down here it's pretty warm inside.

Those Texas building are usually cheap in price so I see why the insulation is so bad usually. They aren't built for that.

If I was a Texan I would consider leaving for another state. If global warming continues that whole state is down.

I’m happy that Upstate NY is getting some Industry. Honestly Cuomo should stop having boyfriend wars over NYC with DeBlasio and put in more work up there

That's a misconception i don't know where they get that from to be honest cause i just don't see it. People mostly leave because of the weather.

Chevy here ford here coca cola general mills plant(cheerios) it's jobs some of the best hospitals in the world the childrens one and roswell(cancer institute)

@Wild self the Buffalo population decreased has slowed down. It still lost population the last census but not compared to the 20 years before.

The reason why Buffalo probably isn’t growing is because it’s not getting that much transient people from other states. Similar to Pittsburgh but that actually might be a good thing in surprise for them.

It is. People look at me dumb when I say I’d move to Minneapolis if I ever left NY for “affordable living”

When I use to lurk citydata, I use to always wonder why folks ask about the politics of an area that they were moving to. Whether a town or county was "conservative" or "liberal". In situations like this, you find out really fast why the question is important.

Buffalo is a hub for ALOT of manufacturing jobs, and lots of Trade unions and Corporations for skilled trades as well

I know its not a Sex in the City high rise office job with A/C, but ya'll asked if they got good paying jobs, and I answered it :yeshrug:

Oh, so when we pay electricity, we shouldn’t expect the company to provide said electricity? :mjtf:

If I don’t pay my bill my shyt gets turned off. When the electricity company doesn’t provide me with electricity, nothing happens. No discounts, no nothing. This fukking guy :martin:

Isn't the power down though, because of the storm, its a disaster, people are showing on how depended they have become to society

I mean people lived thousands of years without power, its some eskimo in alaska right now who this shyt just another day for the nikka

Economy. People are always going to flock to the cities that have quickly growing economies or have established large economies.

most of the cities you mentioned have stagnant growth or declining populations (some have good growth) and I’m sure there is a reason for that.

The problem is people always look at employment as a Macro-Economic level, when its mostly a Micro-Economic problem. That is definitely the media's fault

Macro wise, NYC, Chicago, San Fran, LA are great employment economies with lots of opportunity. But on a Mirco level, it is one of the worst as far as competition with other qualified applicants, certificates/licenses required just to get a decent pay, high traffic to add stress in commute, etc

I lived in Detroit. That place as far as "Growth" was one of the worst in the nation, had a decreasing population. But because of my specific skills in relation to what the Detroit market was providing, I was able to get alot of job offers that paid pretty good. Along with much cheaper rent than those Tier 1 cities
