I think the sick demented cacs just wanted to torture and kill physically and mentally disabled black and brown people. It was never really about the money. They spent more on the legal battle than installing the system. This is just in one prison btw, thousands(tens of thousands?) of prisoners in Texas are still without A/C. That says everything to me. I'm sure the wrongful death suits and all of the people getting seriously injured over the years had to add up as well. Sick.

non hispanic whites are like 45% of texas. 11% of the state is black so black people are EXTREMELY disproportionately represented.
the american prison system works to create a seperate class of americans - convicts. once someone becomes a convict they can be abused and demonized legally and socially and people will look down on them cause they committed a crime. black people make up a disproportionate amount of this because americans want to treat black people like this especially. but they are also down to torture and kill white cons.

But that ain’t a good reasoning for saying they are doing it because they wanna punish black and brown folk, cause even tho it’s way more of them than should be there, it’s still a lot of white boys getting caught up in this too. There should be a line of reasoning that covers 90-100 percent of them rather than 75.

i see what youre saying but you have to keep in mind black and white people arent imprisoned in the same way. in most countries its normal to have some jail system and prisoners. in the US black people get locked up because of the war on drugs at much higher rates than white people. they get locked up for being convicted of different crimes, not just at different rates

i see what youre saying but you have to keep in mind black and white people arent imprisoned in the same way. in most countries its normal to have some jail system and prisoners. in the US black people get locked up because of the war on drugs at much higher rates than white people. they get locked up for being convicted of different crimes, not just at different rates

You really do not know how ac drives up your electric bill . An average house in the summer can pay a 400 plus electric bill . A huge structure like a calabus would pay a bill in the thousands . The states or private companies who run the system will not allow it .
