shyt reminded me a lot of the len bias doc.. and if I remember correctly Len's mom was similarly strong throughout the whole ordeal...

sad sad story... I wasn't born in that type of environment and it's something I cannot relate to at all but like that fakket Wilbon said, promises unfulfilled and dreams crushed by the killing of a young man has to be some of the most tragic shyt there is

Epic 30 for 30. My personal favorite of the series. The last 45 mins of the episode was just powerful. Not going to front like my eyes didn't get watery, that kid would have been a Super Star w/ that million dollar smile and Cam Newton skin *pause*

Derrick Rose rocking #25 at Simeon is just real shyt...

Imagine if the unibrow woulda got hit like that before making it to kentucky :wow:

Crazy shyt bra....

Nah breh, from watching the doc, and seeing how big he was portrayed... it would be like Lebron getting murdered like that before he finished high school.

:wow:

I could be wrong, since I wasn't even born when Wilson got killed. But the doc and the footage depicted a player that was going to be a certified super star who was known on a National level as the best.

Just my take on it...

Air-Jordan-1-Benji-Wilson_zpse4a92370.jpg

The latest Air Jordan 1 will pay homage to Ben “Benji” Wilson, who was a Simeon High School basketball player who was tragically killed at the beginning of his senior year. He was one of the top players in the country before his untimely demise. Jordan Brand will pay tribute to the local legend with this commemorative AJ 1.

The shoe is draped in the Simeon Wolverines school colors of blue and yellow throughout the upper. There are also the words “Wolverines” and Ben Wilson’s number embroidered on the back. No word if these will release to the public, so stay tuned to the latest updates

:dwillhuh: I'd cop based on the strength of the Ben Wilson story. Wish they'd release these...

fukk watery, I cried. That shyt hit way too hard and that school scene took me back to a day I really didn't want to remember. Seeing senseless violence resulting in death is always troubling, but seeing it happen to young black brothers over and over again is heartbreaking to me.

Don't pull out a gun unless you plan on using it is one of the dumbest sayings there is.You already made the mistake of pulling it in the first place why make another one after that ruins your life just because of what your country ass grandad said. The saying that should of been passed down is if you pull a gun think about it.

It actually makes complete sense. If you pull a heater out on somebody and dont murk em, you dont think they coming for ya head

Really sad doc. I hate to hear stories like that. His growth spert was crazy, from 5'8 to 6-5/6-7 over the summer. Benji seemed reeally special, his story really touched me.

She was. Iono what well she drew that kinda strength from, but...man, all I can do is :salute:. Then she had to bury another son not 5 years later (due to some fcukery).

Glad I DVR'd the repeat on ESPNU at the last minute last night. Honestly, I haven't been feeling the latest batch of 30:30's, but I'm guessing this'll change that.
