The only thing that didn't add up to me was how Moore was sticking up for his man who got 30 years, saying how he didn't do anything and was just standing there. Then as soon as his boy gets out he goes back in for...an armed robbery (what the police and media accused him of trying to do to Benji.)

That's the system player you come out of prison a convicted violent felon your prospects are next no nothing.

Look, the way they hyped him up to be, it's almost as likely he coulda been a Christian Laettner, A GREAT IN COLLEGE but :snoop: in the NBA, you just can't say he would have been one of the greats, that you'll never know... kinda like how Shyne during Jail and how yall were hyping him to be the next :pacspit: once he go out and look what happened...

plus the good lord has blessed us with Jordan, Kobe, Bron, AI, Shaq, all these legends, lets celebrate the fact we got these dudes and nothing tragic happened to them!

so she gonna ditch Benji, superstar high schooler with NBA potential for a 15 year old.:shaq2::shaq2:

it doesnt make sense. There is no other motive, She probably never knew Moore, and Moore didnt say he knew her.

You all are thinking too hard. :russ:
:rudy:

Spiteful demonic black chicks don't give a fukk about that shyt, he was gonna go to the NBA and probably not give 2 fukks about her after that, she probably was on if I can't have him and he's banging chicks left and right, I'm a show him............................. and this wasn't the 90's she would of got pebbles even if she would of thought about child support

I have been both looking forward to and dreading watching this doc since I heard it was announced...

I remember reading that Scoop Jackson story in Slam when I was a kid like 5 times, hearing rappers like Common talk about the situation on his albums and listening to all the urban legend stories from older Chicago n!ggas...

It was always a discouraging story to me, but nothing could prepare me to the impact of this movie...

First.. After hearing so much about him over the years and seeing pics it felt surrreal to actually see him alive, hooping, smiling and talking (that Chi accent was so strong)..It was like watching a ghost...I've heard his game described in such grandious terms, his actual skill level was actually a bit of a let down...I can see he was gonna be great, but he was always descibed to me as a Magic/Jordan hybrid with range like Larry..Not sure about that but he could definately go...He would have been a star.. Especially with his looks and charisma...Him and Len could have totally changed the balance of the league in the late 80's...

The film just had so much sorrow and dispair.. You can tell a lot of the reaction was fueled by folks realizing that it wasn't just over for Benji, it was a wrap for them..They had their future tied to his success so much he was looked at as a meal ticket out for them.. Some of his boys even said as much... His mother's strength and dignity actually bothered me a lot.. For some reason it was really uncomfortable.. Maybe because a part of me knows I could never be that strong...The open casket was too much for ESPN imo..Even though it's been almost 30 years I could have done without that..So morbid..

The crazy part is that he died a couple of weeks into Jordan's rookie year.. He never even got to see what was about to happen to his city in the near future..

His reaction to the P-Stones wildin out at the Farraguat game (ironic they have the same colors as Simeon) was actually a little bit of comic relief and a cool lil window into his character and personality..

That part about his brother saying "he was just trying to be like me" really hit home to me..Thinking about all the advice I have given younger family members about "never backing down or punking out"..

Just damn...Nothing more to say....

Just admit you don't like black women and K.I.M dude

Black woman is my weakness actually, and I know the depths a scorned black chick will go to ruin a mans life, and the documentary had to remind us over and over that they weren't getting along...............................Of course they aren't gonna be reckless and fully blame her when he has a child by her, but they left that in the air, for us to make our judgements. Two random gangbangers are just standing chilling and waiting with burners, he had no intentions of going that way, but only went in that direction because of her, and she knew he would chase her, she delivered Benji to them boys on a platter point blank period, my spider senses were tingling when I saw the story and couldn't shake it, and with changing stories from the killers, it's obvious we aint getting the full truth still just bits and pieces, her skipping town, and refusing to talk solidified my feelings

That part here stuck out to me most. Especially hearing some of the cats in here who thought dude was really out to rob him and lied about Benji coming at dude. His brother basically sounded as if he believed the shooter's account based on what he taught Benji.

This story made me really look back on city life. Being the "crowned prince" or known cat around the way getting the athletes pass can create this no one can hurt me persona that, at age 17, can get to a niqqas head. That "nah...nah...leave shorty alone. That niqqa is nice" shyt thrown by thugs who protect the chosen athletes in the hood is real. My last summer before going to OU was surreal the way niqqas were just so protective and proud of a niqqa. But Benji was different. He had that from 10th grade on and no one was around to temper not letting it get to his head. His bro took responsibility for that.

Either way, there's just some niqqas who don't know "the backdown."

His brother seems to believe them. He said he taught Benji not to back down.
