All y’all nikkas gonna keep buying from Amazon. Shut up :unimpressed: You didn’t want to support local businesses and brick & mortar stores. Called them obsolete. You wanted everything online, everything cheap and everything fast, quick and convenient. Amazon destroyed everybody and they’re here to stay now. This what you got :unimpressed:

But funds are not “short” when you are owned by amazon

This is pure greed.

:what:

Whole Foods is a company under Amazon’s umbrella with their own financials and market expectations.

They should’ve never gave part time workers health insurance in the 1st place.

You want real benefits, get a real career.

Ppl keep :cape: for these demons like Bezos, Gates, Zuckerberg, and the likes as if their interests need to be protected, in the hopes that one day...your broke ass will magically ascend to their status. Like your protecting your future endeavors...:dead:

99% chance its not going to happen you delusional weirdo... :umad:

When is enough enough? Are ppl going to wait until these cacs have horded every dollar in this country and monopolized the entire playing field? Conquered every ounce of leverage (mind you it's basically to that point) ? :what:

Like previous OP said...they're hording wealth at the expense of everyone elses livelihood. No hate...just facts. No one needs to be as wealthy as these ppl are. There has to be some sort of cap. They've already stacked the deck 10 generations ahead on nggas. You can't afford to pay your light bill 2 months ahead...:mjlol:

It's only getting worse for everyone overall...nd ppl
still wanna blindly defend their right to have all this money...
:skip:

When we're livin like slaves in an encampment somewhere, then it will have dawned on you sheep...that we shouldve revolted or done something sooner...:troll:

It's too late by then.

amen brother

I had an argument with my barber about how the wealthy horde wealth and evade taxes. He said there is nothing wrong with it and that we (common folk) need to follow in their footsteps.
This is the mindset of so many of Americans (particularly millennials). So many of us are deluded in thinking that we will become billionaires one day instead of fighting for the social and economic change that needs to happen. This warped sense of individualism is killing our planet and contributing to the gross wealth inequality that we're seeing increase year after year, decade after decade.

i agree employees working <20 hours shouldn't have been offered health insurance, but i disagree with the other points.

Whole Foods could not function without their store workers. Whether the employee working is a manager or a cashier, an hour is an hour. They're both working and deserving of benefits.

Whole Foods is directly affected by the health of these workers. If their employees are sick, unable to go to the doctor, or can't afford medicine, then they can't work. Or worse, health-conscious upper-class shoppers don't want to be around a bunch of sick employees.

Lastly, as a company, you shouldn't go around making moves that go against your stated mission/values/principles. It gives customers a reason to stop supporting you because they no longer trust or respect you.

New Yawk where I’m from / Bahston where I’m at
The article references “equitable scheduling” as one of the reasons for the decision. I assume this means they would prefer to allow more employees to have full time positions instead of people eating up smaller part time positions just to get health benefits...maybe this does help some people on the ground level

2000 employees over 500 stores means it affects 4 per store on average. Your math is off
Nah b, I’m talking total employees that work in a store :beli:

Dude below you was closer to an answer

I see maybe 25 people working in a Whole Foods at once, so maybe 100 throughout all shifts

:manny: While it’s messed up that these workers are losing benefits, online shopping for everything is the GOAT experience.
