What a nikka got to elaborate? Track was wack. The first two thirds of the shyt was some pseudo intellectual tripe and he did nothing on the last third to generate the acclaim ya'll Lupe stans were trying to give it. Boring bars. Forgettable beat. And it seems like he intentionally tried NOT to address Kendrick on most of the track. Wack breh.

Horrible is hyperbole, but the track was def unimpressive. Was it lyrical and all that? Well of course it was, Lupe might be the most talented MC in rap. But it was also not potent or special or awe inspiring or anything like that. Joell's track was nice though.

After listening to it a few more times...

I think my problem was... he named it SLR II... but it wasnt worthy of that. BUT, it's far from horrible, and a response appropriate to and on the level of Kendrick's call to arms

I think this fell short flow wise... just too choppy, felt like he was done with a verse but was just needlessly pausing for emphasis. To me, Lupe is at his best when he buttons up his flow & concepts just to where they are complex enough to warrant a rewind but nice enough on the surface to hook you. I rewound this out of respect and its better with each listen.

It wasn't better than the first SLR or Joel Ortiz's response, and it certainly wasn't the "best Lupe song in years" <- , but it was a dope, fun little record that had some very dope lines and responded directly to Kendrick's declarations. nikkas are goofy. shyt is either grade A, mind blowing excellency or utterly horrible. There's no in between. This was a pretty good response. Nothing more, nothing less.

And he's still better than your favorite rapper.
