I mean yeah, the breh is full of shyt but he always states the maneuvers aren't meant to have a high success rate. It's more like if you're in a situation where you're at gunpoint and you're fairly certain you're gonna die either way, might as well try. And to further defend him, it's all based on the element of surprise. Asian guy already knew what dude was about and knew he was gonna go for the gun so he was already in prepared. In real life, no gun man expects you to be bold enough to actually go for the weapon.

tl;dr yes the moves have a low success rate but I don't think this video paints an accurate picture.

In his defense, though, the other guy: 1. Knew to expect a disarm attempt. And 2. Is trained as well.

In real life shooters aren't typically trained forreal and don't expect disarm attempts or know to to properly respond to them
