You should never game on battery. That shyt is deadly to a non-removable battery. Probably gets stupid hot as well.portable 1080p gamingwith that screen

It can very well be the best battery ever constructed in a device, but you don't think Cycles will be an issue? Especially considering you are planning to keep this for a very long time?I game in bed a lot early mornings/ late nightsbattery memory is still an issue?
What is your cycle count at now? If you are over 1 per day...no bueno my friend. That shyt will deteriorate quickly. With good/normal usage you should be good for 3 years or so, but not gaming heavy without it being near the outlet

just ran it battery 1 40 cycles @ 98.9% full capacity and battery 2 96 cycles @ 98.9%...I was under the assumption it's better to let the battery drain then charge it then keep connected...
Not bad, I find that the best thing to do is not use it predominantly one way. Keeping it ALWAYS plugged in is bad, but pushing it so hard that a lot of heat generated inside the small form factor will harm the battery as well. Heat is the enemy of everything and from my limited experience with Surface products...they get very hot after a few hours of heavy usage. Surface book is the only laptop I truly want but couldn't justify spending the bread on it. I'm currently rocking the Surface Pro 4 and I will admit it's a shytty tablet when compare to the MacBook. It is however an excellent laptop when it comes to portability and general processing power. The battery life on my Pro 4 is basura as well (6-8 hours). Overall I'm satisfied enough to keep it, but that Surface book seems to be the overall better purchase. I may ultimately trade up for that. I wish M$ had a program for that sort of thing.

I may trade up for one later this year.
Surface pro 5 for me. Was about to cop the 4 until I read about the battery life, heat, and software issues.
Hopefully they iron out the issues from the 4 with the 5
With these prices if you're concerned about gaming I would just get an Alienware or Asus G series.
