A big part of the reason why so many (especially older americans) believe the propaganda that the richest country in the world somehow can't have the best standard of living is due to the fact that they don't travel.

They don't even leave their state let alone go to a country like Norway or Germany where all these so called "unrealistic" policies are not only present, but you'll be laughed out of town if you dare try to take that shyt away.

The thing that is always left unsaid is this:
If you put those policies in place, people will get used to it and will get FURIOUS if you try to take that away. We saw it in 2017 with the town halls where Republicans went on and on about how they'd get rid of the affordable care act and voters went in on them. The ACA isn't great but it's an improvement over what we had before and people don't want to go backwards.

If the things described in that video were put forward and passed in 2008, we would've had back to back Democrat presidents. Republicans wouldn't have a chance since their platform doesn't offer anyone not making 200k+ a year anything.

A huge reason for the opposition of this basic social amenities is the fear of right wing conservatives and racists that it will go to ''lazy blacks'' who will spend it on ribs flashy cars etc They rather starve than see black people or other minorities get support from the government and society

I try to bring this up when discussing public transit in America.
People always FALSELY say that Europe is old and it's easier to have trains and trams and buses and cycling there.

But The Netherlands was literally a car-driven wasteland in the 1960s and 1970s in the post WW2 years. And there was VEHEMENT disagreement over city planning to make things better for public transit.

Fast forward 30-40 years and you absolutely would have a riot on your hands if you tried to remove bike lanes and tramways from them.

GOP making working whites believe we are enemies while they run the fade on all them pockets.

Trump is selling baseball cards for $4800 right now and selling out :mjlol:
He's not selling baseball cards. He's selling digital trading cards. It's just like baseball cards, but you collect them digitally. That's a major difference breh

That's the very basis of a conservative to resist change. Even at their own self harm. Those hicks in coal towns have been bent over a barrel for decades and they still refuse to transition to cleaner alternatives with jobs and training. Because people who have never looked out for them told them to think and move that way.

We're also seeing this with Biden's cancellation of the pandemic benefits. He could've just left those in place. Would have helped a lot of people. But he's fundamentally a conservative Democrat, so that was never in the cards.

This is what "progressive" means, I guess.

You always got heat for Democrats but never for Republicans for not doing shyt.

We all notice who is the target of your frustration.
We also notice how you didn't address ANYTHING Jon Stewart said in the 3 videos I posted.

Happy New Year, Will.
