They would beat them any other time. Michigan almost won with a Rudock who didn't know the offense yet. U of M and OSU would beat any Pac-10, they wouldn't blow them out but healthy, they beat everyone in that conference. MSU would too. People need to stop pretending that the BIG didn't fukk up the alignment and put MSU, OSU and U of M all on one side for no reason. MSU needs to be on the other side. No one gives a shyt about Michigan St. versus OSU. If Penn St. is ever good again, you would have U of M, Penn St., MSU and OSU on one side and IOWA, NEB, WISCONSIN and NW on the other side. That is terrible.

I still never get why they aligned the conference like that.

The only thing I can think of is that they wanted to keep the MSU - Mich and MSU - OSU match ups every year, but hell they could of just alternated whoever played MSU every year.

That way if they take care of business, MSU would play both if they win their division and UM/OSU would play both as long they take care of business.

That Iowa/Nebraska/WIsconsin/NW division is cuz usually only 2 of the 3 are ever good, they other side is super top-heavy.

They need to switch Minnesota and Wisconsin with MSU and Maryland. Maybe that would bring better balance.

That way you'll have OSU/Mich/Wisconsin/Penn State in one and Iowa/MSU/NW/Nebraska in the other.

b) the other divisions already do it and ended their seasons weeks ago

You would have to shorten the season and universities not going to do that

FCS programs also play 12 games a regular season.
