Thursday, no conference championship games. Another small conference #1 decided to go to the NIT instead though. Louisiana Tech (WAC #1 ) lost in the qtrs. to a 9-21 squad, and goes to the NIT.

In what might be a first ever, a conference (MEAC) had all of their top 4 seeds LOSE in the quarterfinals. Pretty sure the MEAC champion will be playing on the first Tuesday.

14 teams officially in now.

Teams officially in NCAA (14)
Florida Gulf Coast (Atlantic Sun champ) (24-10)
Harvard (Ivy champ) (19-9)
Belmont (Ohio Valley champ) (26-6)
Liberty (Big South champ) (15-20) (will be a 16 seed)
Creighton (Missouri Valley champ) (27-7)
James Madison (Colonial champ) (20-14)
Davidson (Southern champ) (26-7)
Western Kentucky (Sun Belt champ) (20-15)
Gonzaga (West Coast champ) (32-2) (will be a #1 seed)
Iona (Metro Atlantic champ) (20-13)
LIU Brooklyn (Northeast champ) (20-13)
South Dakota St. (Summit champ) (25-9)
Valparaiso (Horizon champ) (26-7)
Bucknell (Patriot champ) (28-5)

Other locks (41)
ACC (4): Miami, Duke, N. Carolina, NC State
Big East (7): Georgetown, Notre Dame, Pitt, Louisville, Syracuse, Marquette, Cincinnati
Big 10 (5): Indiana, Michigan St., Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio St.
Big 12 (4): Kansas, Kansas St., Oklahoma St, Oklahoma
Pac 12 (2): Arizona, UCLA
SEC (2): Florida, Missouri
Mountain West (4): San Diego St, New Mexico, UNLV, Colorado St.
Atlantic 10 (4): St. Louis, VCU, Temple, Butler
Other locks (2): Wichita St, Memphis
Other small 1-bid conferences (7)

That leaves 13 spots for all the bubble teams to fight over: Virginia, Villanova, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa St., Baylor, Colorado, California, Oregon, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Alabama, Boise St, LaSalle, St. Marys, Southern Miss, Mid. Tennessee. 18 teams to fight over the last 13 spots.

Bubble teams on Thursday
Minnesota, California, Baylor, Boise St, Colorado and Villanova all lose.
Illinois, Southern Miss, Tennessee all win.

Teams officially in NIT
Mercer (Atlantic Sun reg. season champ)
Robert Morris (Northeast reg. season champ)
Charleston Southern (Big South reg. season champ)
Niagara (MAAC reg. season champ)
Stony Brook (America East reg. season champ)
Middle Tennessee St. (Sun Belt reg. season champ) (still on NCAA bubble)
Northeastern (Colonial reg. season champ)
Norfolk St. (MEAC reg. season champ)
Louisiana Tech (WAC reg. season champ)

The Fightin' Hornets of Delaware State live to fight another day. Up next: a team they've already beaten once this year. 8-)

I'm pretty sure that Villanova is in, and losing to the #4 team in the nation won't be a bad enough loss to put them out.

I've considered them a lock since that win vs. Georgetown. They are in a FAR better position than the other bubble teams.

Just my two cents, of course.
