White Sox get Robertson

4 years $40 mil

Considering we gave Miller $36 mil to set up, not liking this at all. I could see if it was Papelbon money but we gave Soriano 3/36 just to pitch the 7th a couple of years ago.

I don't get it.

Should have signed him you'd have a amazing bullpen games would be over with a lead after 6.. look at how far it got the Royals

ya know, i'm okay with Robertson walking considering there were times dude has literally imploded. Maybe its time to rebuild the pen and then focus on reeling in Lester or Scherzer. One thing we gotta bank on is that the Yanks will ALWAYS be in the running for any and everything because they arent on this "rebuilding" shyt at the expense of an intentionally bad year. They're at least spending the money. This core four shyt is finally over and the time to be on some new shyt is here.

why arnt the yanks trying to sign lester?

Why would we?

The Yankees use 20 draft picks every year on pitching only to give pitchers 7 year deals to block them all.

If you think Robertson was shaky (all things considered he rose to the occasion), Betances at closer is not one to trust. He couldn't hack it as a starter, not because of his stuff or his endurance. It's because when he gets into shyt he walks the entire lineup. He's like Robertson kinda where that shyt is cute in the 8th because they'll yank you, but in the 9th, that won't fly. Add in a guy who has to be almost as good as Betances was to justify his worth, and you have a pen that isn't as secure. The only thing Cashman has going for him is that he finds good bullpen arms, but I think they're jumping the gun on Betances.

Robertson at $10 mil per is not a bad deal and we let him go over that. Just bizarre.

Sale Shark Rodon :whoo:

A's gave up the best prospect in baseball for him and trade him for that :mjlol:
best prospect in baseball? reaching hard

that trade was worth it imho...

btw the other 2 prospects they are talking about in the trade from the white sox to oakland are tim anderson and francellis montas.... that's shortstop Tim Anderson and right-handed pitcher Francellis Montas, the #2 and #5 prospects in the 2015 Baseball America prospect list, respectively.

I cant put faith in Betances because too many dudes get hyped up and are let downs. MLB is FILLED with cats like that who don't even have a decent 5 year run.

TBH, Soriano shoulda waited for Mariano to bow out and then slide into that role. Have no idea why he bounced but there must have been an issue with the front office and Girardi. And I'm thinking it was more Girardi because the front office/staff looks out for everyone. Still, Soriano made the wrong move IMO.

Cashman is just hit or miss these days fam. He can pull in a big name because Hal/Hank let him have access to the vault. Dude is the baseball Mitch Kupchak but with access to more money.

I was a big Soriano fan don't get me wrong, but Soriano's 35 years old. It's not like he was primed to take over for a long time. From Joba to Soriano, the Yankees seemed so paranoid when Mo looked like he was falling off, they had replacements set up for him but he kept going.

I just don't get why the Yankees didn't get that paranoid when Jeter started breaking down (other than drafting Cito Culver)
