i may have said it earlier in this thread, but as a fan of a team that is constantly shytty... why the fukk are teams like Colorado and Milwaukee not blowing the fukk up? They have no chance in hell to compete this year, or in the next couple of years, start a full rebuild already. Get assets for your big names now, it's not like they both have shyt fanbases who won't come back. the best seat in Miller park is like $14.

oh and Colorado - trade me fukkin Tulo already you fukkin idiots
Milwaukee isnt too bad they could have a really good starting rotation

The Houston Astros have acquired slugger Evan Gattis in a trade with the Atlanta Braves, a source confirmed to ESPN's Jim Bowden.

The rebuilding Braves received three minor league prospects -- right-hander Mike Foltynewicz, third baseman Rio Ruiz and right-hander Andrew Thurman -- in the trade, which is pending physicals, according to the source.

Geoff Burke/USA TODAY SportsEvan Gattis hit 43 home runs in just 213 career games with the Braves.
Gattis was in Houston on Wednesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Gattis, 28, has 43 home runs in just 213 career games with the Braves. He burst onto the scene as a relative unknown in 2013 and became one of the most popular players among Atlanta's fan base.

The right-handed Gattis, who has played catcher, first base and left field, will join an emerging Astros lineup that already features All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve, promising outfielder George Springer and slugger Chris Carter, who had 37 homers last season.

The deal marks the latest in a busy offseason for the Braves, who also have traded away star outfielders Jason Heyward and Justin Upton following a disappointing 79-83 season.

Brehs, we winning 120 games next season (only to choke in October) :wowjb:

I'd support trading Gio above everyone else, but I don't mind trading Strasburg. He an emo pitcher.

I don't want to fap, but I may. :noah:

This also means something good is happening with the TV deal too.

The Nats got HUGE arms in the system too.

So Dombrowski gave Fister to the Nats so he could re-sign Scherzer, then doesn't get a deal done and the Tigers are left with neither. They also still have a raging dumpster fire in the bullpen he did nothing with.

They're gonna miss the playoffs this year.

Their next GM is gonna have a fukking mess to clean up.

Shields is delusional if he wants a 5 year deal. :birdman:
Only getting 3 year 60 million if I'm the Yankees for a 33 year old who's led the league in IP for the last 8 years combined.

$25 million a year? :mjlol:

Shields is worth $15 million max. He's an innings eater and solid 2 or 3 in a rotation, but definitely not an ace.

Scherzer to Nats official:

Now we'll see if they deal Zimmerman or Strassy.

I saw Rosenthal talking about the Brewers going after a Shields in FA or Zimmerman in trade in lieu of the Yovani trade :to:. I'm just not sure I see us putting that much money into one player, when I doubt our payroll will climb any higher than what it is already. Zimmerman is a Wisconsin boy, so bringing him would be ideal, though his payday is gonna be bigger than Shields in the very near future. Whatever the case, should be an interesting week for my squad.
