random thoughts

-word is Amaro is trying to get extra pieces in every potential deal, and its costing him. wanted the M's top 2 prospects for Byrd (LOL) and keeps adding guys for a Lee deal. these guys have optimal value now, both are older and in the last year of their deals next year. hes gonna fukk over the Phillies' rebuilding

-Lackey has a vesting option that the Cards can activate...for 500k! thats insane, id assume they try to work something out for like 2 years but man they got him by the balls. great deal

-id understand if they dont want to sell the farm for Price, but if the O's dont grab Colon they dont really want to win. he cant cost THAT much

-Wade Davis has not allowed an XBH all year. thats beyond stupid

I don't know how that man has not been fired yet

gotta stay tuned in until 4 pm, hearing price is definitely being moved

also wanna see if orioles make a move for any pitcher like someone on the phils or colon, but i understand not wanting to give up any young arms in our rotation or minor leagues especially with the young rotation doing so well

EDIT: Parra traded to the brewers

I think the Cardinals got royally fukked in that trade.

you'd assume Craig gets it together at some point again, probably next year. but when your basically just clearing the path for your top prospect, and gain a guy that would be your #2 starter in the postseason thats not bad

classic 'even' trade that benefits each team during diff success periods

A’s “Getting Flooded” With Calls On Jason Hammel

The Athletics are “getting flooded” with calls on Jason Hammel following this morning’s acquisition of Jon Lester, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (Twitter link).

Oakland was planning to use Hammel as its fifth starter, with Jesse Chavez heading to the bullpen, Susan Slusser tweeted earlier this morning. However, Chavez also gives the A’s an excellent fifth starter candidate should they decide to flip Hammel, be it for prospects or perhaps a Major League piece that could help deepen their current roster.

Hammel, 31, has struggled tremendously since coming over in the Jeff Samardzija trade. In four starts with the A’s, he’s yielded a 9.53 ERA and seen his previously excellent 1.9 BB/9 rate spike to 5.3. However, his overall numbers this year are still appealing to teams in need of a rotation rental: Hammel has a 3.87 ERA with 8.3 K/9, 2.4 BB/9 and a 40.9 percent ground-ball rate. Rival clubs may consider him a nice buy-low candidate.

In the ocean where the sharks be at
YO!!!

This nikka Jim Bowden from ESPN just tried to steal a tweet about Marlon Byrd getting traded to the Yanks, but it was from a fake Joel Sherman account, so he just deleted his entire twitter account!:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Jim Bowden panicked.

  • He first deleted his twitter photo so @JimBowdenESPNxm had an egg avatar and looked fake.
  • He then transferred his account to @JimBowdiv, perhaps thinking no one would find him? (His Marlon Byrd tweet is was still there.)
  • His original, @JimBowdenESPNxm account was nuked, but it is now back—with 25 followers at press time. Someone is cybersquatting the account, has put Bowden's old avatar there, and is clearly preparing to send out fake trade deadline news.
  • And just now, since I've been typing, @JimBowdiv has disappeared. We don't know where Jim Bowden went, and he's probably not going to receive the DMs we sent him.

Marlon Byrd again being the best value on the market. Considering his contract and his production the last two years. Would be a good third or fourth outfielder for whoever gets him.

Thank You sir for Dilson Herrara and Vic Black :blessed:

He did the same thing early with Price to Tigers

That competitive balance pick that came with Cespedes :leon:

If they resign him, then that deal is great for Boston.

I wouldn't be surprised if in the future, a lot of small market teams use those to trade with bigger market teams for proven MLB talent.
