Dude is probably the best corner outfielder in the game defensively. Has been for some time.

Doesnt make up for his below mediocre hitting...To me it devalues WAR when hes leading a league with 11 home runs and subpar everything else....Bautista is a great corner OFer as well with much better offense and his war is not even close,doesnt make sense to me...

bautistas dwar is -1.7 while heyward has 3.1 dwar

you may or may not like how war is calculated and how much defense factors in (and some places calculate it differently from others)

but clearly bautista and heyward arent even in the same convo defense wise

Im not sure how its calculated,but Heyward being a better corner RF shouldnt account for him having a much higher overrall WAR when his offense is not even close to acceptable levels...

I would like to know how his D is calculated at -1.7

Stuff like this is why WAR shouldn't be valued as highly as it is. How Jason Heyward has a higher WAR than Stanton is beyond words ridiculous.

Being Wins Above Replacement makes it seem like the Braves are better off with Heyward than Stanton.

I think WAR just needs to be weighted differently. Defense is important, but a dominant bat in the lineup holds much more influence.
