The Blue Jays have agreed to acquire star lefty David Price from the Tigers, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports on Twitter. It’s the second time in two years that Price has featured as a marquee summer trade chip. This time, of course, he’s a pure rental with one function: driving his new team to and through the post-season this year.
The marquee piece coming in return is top Blue Jays prospect Daniel Norris, Heyman adds. It remains to be seen what other pieces are involved in the deal, but certainly that’s a very strong start.

The St. Louis Cardinals acquired outfielder Brandon Moss from the Cleveland Indians for left-handed pitching prospect Rob Kaminsky on Thursday.

The deal comes hours after Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday left a 1-0 loss to the Cincinnati Reds with a right quad strain after pulling up lame running to first base. It is the same injury that sidelined Holliday for 31 games earlier this season.
