nah, i meant this current line up.

If Rendon can step up and be Bryce's peer, then we will be fine. This current group's window is closed, imo, but the Nationals arent fading into bolivian. Trea Turner will be our everyday shortstop next season it appears. He may even get called up by the end of this month.

Espinosa isnt an albatross anymore either at 2nd.

We need a catcher badly.

I laughed when Ian Desmond mentioned this "window closing" before the start of this season. The window may be closing for him winning as a Nat because he'll probably be gone, but the Nats will be just fine. That's probably hard for him to swallow because he has spent his entire decade-long career here. Maybe that being on his mind is part of the reason he has played so poorly so far this season. Who knows, who cares...
As already meantioned, we have plenty of legit talent ready to replace the players we might lose, and we have the richest owner in MLB who has already proven he is willing to spend when needed. There's no window closing. There will always be players coming and going. The Curly W will be fine for years to come.

you really optimistic creh

Jayson Werth is done but he will be our starting outfielder until 2017

Ryan Zimmerman is done and he our starting first baseman and we have his contract until 2019.

Those guys are our two highest paid players.

Its not roses either but the players we lose this off-season has replacements. We can also get some goods for Strasburg too.

We need a new manager as well. Matt Williams proved he is awful

Neither Werth or Zimmerman are done. They both have had significant injuries the last couple of seasons. As long as Zimmerman is healthy, there is no reason to believe he can't be the hitter he's always capable of being. Same thing for Werth, who has two seasons left on his contract. If he can hit even close to what he hit in '13 and '14, we're good.

Werth is done. He is a defensive liability and is 36. I hope he goes to the DR and gets some Bollee in his system this offseason because I dont see it for cuz.

Ryan Zimmerman has not been good in about 3 years, and has only had one elite season. He is also playing first base but does not have first base power. His value was that he was a great hitting 3rd baseman with gold glove defense. Now he an average power first baseman with decent defending. He done.

I agree with mastermind. Take them blinders off dave. Werth and Zimmermans best days are past. Zimmmerman hasn't done anything but sit on the IR for years. FYI this is a reason why the NL needs DH, so guys like Werth and Zimmerman don't become useless after 33.

Him moving from 3rd to 1st doesn't make him "done". We have a Gold Glove caliber player in Rendon at 3rd now, so we aren't losing anything there. When healthy, Zimm will give you 25+ HRs and hit .280+. Still solid for First Baseman.

Justin Verlander has allowed five-plus runs in four starts this season, including tonight's against the Royals, and he's surrendered just one run in three starts this season. His ERA is up to 5.05, and he's in line for the loss with the Tigers trailing 5-1 in the seventh.

:mjlol: only 4 years at 28 mil per season left
