"he's 26, it's a shorter deal... uhhh... he was highly regarded coming out of high school? i don't know..." you still can't justify over $20 per. that's outrageous and fukks the market even more than it's already fukked. I'm not even sure Rick Porcello was drafted in my fantasy leagues and he's making $20 million. that does not compute.

$30. I'm already set for Matt Harvey to ask for $35. Stubborn fukk, i anticipate him being top of the league from here on out and Scott Boras.

here's the deal with Porcello. the doof from Fangraphs says he was in line to get over $100 this offseason. it would have been more years so less annually. Even if the Sox can afford it, at what point do you gather around and say "Hey... do we really need to pay this kid $20 mil a season? I mean, are we gonna really fall apart if God forbid we have to replace him with someone slightly worse for a lot less money?"

that's my big takeaway from a lot of contracts. Everyone is so sabr inclined these days, they can't find a kid in the minors to put up less war, but for much less cash and balance it out elsewhere? i don't give a fukk how old Rick Porcello is, even with their bag of average pitching staff... he's Rick Porcello
