The Tigers already have Justin Upton, JD Martinez, Miggy and Victor. Why would they trade their starting catcher, who's really good with pitchers and great at throwing out runners, for a slugger who hits below .250 for his career and has no position to play in Detroit?

Based on rumblings, Martinez and Victor are going to be traded. Also, Bruce is an expiring contract at 13 million which the Tigers can trade at deadline or get draft-pick compensation at the end of 2017.
