So how do y'all feel about our 1st round pick?

Not gonna lie i was kinda mad yesterday,I really wanted a defensive player

Im tired off see our D be trash but I've come around a little bit

I think Stanley will be good and we definitely needed to replace Monroe so im now ok with the pick

I think we have to roll the dice on Myles Jack in round 2

We desperately need a playmaker on that defense and he's by far the best player left on the board

Some other players I wouldn't mind us taking:

OLB Kevin Dodd
OLB Noah Spence
OLB Emannuel Ogbah
OLB Kamalei Correa
CB Mackensie Alexander
CB Xavian Howard
CB Cyrus Jones
DE Jonathan Bullard
DE Chris Jones
DT Andrew Billings

Hopefully we end up 2 or 3 of those guys by the end of the night

I had Stanley pegged as a real possibility from the jump. Even before all the red flags and smoke (don’t ask me how) started surrounding Tunsil. I think Oz and them felt Stanley was a more NFL-ready type, plus had the clean off-field slate.

I’m good with this. Joe’s got bonafide long term protection over there now. Not saying he’ll be JO, but I think he’ll surprise some people. Smart dude who sounds like he’s ready and willing to work. The analysts and "experts" seem to really like him and the fit here, FWIW.

Hopefully tonight we’ll come away with an edge (Spence? Ogbah?) or solid CB (Alexander?). I think Ragland and Robinson are options too but they wouldn’t be my top ones (although both would be roster upgrades).

I’d see if Jack lasts to the 3rd, though….it’s a gamble but one I’d be willing to take. If we really think he won’t last ‘til then I’d consider using a couple of those extra picks to jump back into the mid-late 2nd.

Can we get anything for Monroe? I’d gladly dump him for a 5th and KIM.

Yeah ive been saying Stanley>Tunsil for a minute now but I really didn't want either

Tunsil reminds me too much of Monroe thats why I didn't like him

And we can't get rid of Monroe until after June 1st so we can push the cap hit to next year

Were gonna have about 18 mill in cap space after we cut him and you know cap space rolls over to the next year so we should be sitting pretty next offseason for the first time in years

Unless we take Jack I think our next 2 picks have to be pass rusher and cb

We might go CB first since there are more pass rushers left

Draft a CB with the 36th pick and then trade up in the end of the 2nd for the pass rusher

But I'd take pass rusher first and trade up for Cyrus Jones at the end of the 2nd

Jones is great retuner too so thats killing two birds with one stone

If we can get some combination of Alexander/Howard/Jones and Spence/Dodd/Ogbah/Correa tonight our defense will be good next year
