Because scott boras has 3 of the biggest fa's on the market(hosmer,arrieta,jd martinez) and his ridiculous contract demands haven't been met (arrieta 6 years 180 mil/martinez 7 years 200 mil ant happening)so the market is frozen and it's a staring contest seeing who will blink 1st.
Darvish wants 6-7 years and cobb wants 18-20 mil a year. Once their agents realize they aren't getting these deals and accept smaller offers it will pop off
& yankees and dodgers are tryin to stay under the luxury tax so they aren't spending big this off season all this = Woat hot stove season
A lot of big money teams are against the luxury tax and boras is doing his typical snail walk.
I've been waiting a long time for teams to finally smarten up and tell Boras to go fukk himself.
Because of that though you figure we'd see a lot more trades by now

Yankees already went and got what they needed via trade

I honestly don’t know but the cubs offered almora,Montgomery & Russell for Machado and were turned down which is ridiculous
Don’t know where it stands at this point.cubs just need a starter and one more bullpen pitcher and they’ll be good for 2018.they can trade Russell for pitching next winter and just sign Machado

Wouldn’t give up Whitley or Tucker to make this move happen. You could get similar production for a lot less.
