Colorado knew that Charlie Blackmon and Nolan Arenado would be good.

They probably didn't expect Mark Reynolds to be good though. Reynolds somehow has managed to steadily lower his strikeout rate. Four years ago it was 30%. Now it's down to 22%. With his power that changes a lot.

David Dahl will return soon to take over for Gerardo Parra, who held his own in April batting .282 with 5 HR.

Expect Freeland and Senzatela's ERAs to go up.
Also, the Rockies are 9-1 in one-run games. So we'll see if that keeps up.

They may very well be in the WC hunt late in the season, but if the Dodgers get healthy I think they're the team to beat in the NL West. (Though I can't believe they are playing Chase Utley. He's awful).

I hear u but as I said in my post look at the nl landscape

As long as they win in the mid 80's they probably will be in the wildcard

What helps Colorado is that San Francisco got off to a terrible start. I would have picked them as a WC team.

Looking at the National League...

The Braves won't be in WC contention unless they get tremendous pitching help. It's a borderline miracle that Matt Kemp is batting as well as he is.

Injuries rule out the Mets.

Brewers don't have pitching.

The Cardinals? LOL Once the Cubs get on track they'll pound everyone in that division.

You have a point. It'll be a battle between Colorado, Arizona and LA.

(I still have a small part of me that says San Fran isn't out of it. But let's see how June plays out)

Giants problem is their offense is god awful from what I've seen

Colorado's bullpen is really solid. Greg Holland looking like KC version again and Ottavino is nasty. They have a lot of talent and balance throughout their lineup. Lemahieu led the league in batting last year, Story can hit and Desmond should start hitting as he gets back into a rhythm. Should be interesting, they got some young pitching that might strike out enough batters to hold down scores a bit. I hope Arizona and Colorado can keep it up until August/September to get some new blood in the NL West

The Rockies pen is filthy which has become the most important part of the game and why I think their legit

Plus they have a good farm system so they could get a impact player at the deadline

I think the Cubs might repeat. I don't see anyone challenging them, the Mets are injured and the Nats are chokers. I think Houston is a fad, they'll get exposed quickly if it gets to that point.

Nah while the Cubs have a great chance the baseball plAyoffs are such a crapshoot nothing's guaranteed. This isn't the NBA playoffs where the best team always wins

You didn't mention the Dodgers. They'll be a dangerous team as well
